Box collage is my natural art form. During their construction I make hundreds of decisions using eyes, hands and collective resources. When I create one box, I actually create ten. I control its outcome, but pass through different scenarios along the way. I have created boxes throughout my career. Their themes are truly random. Places: Paris, Dallas, Utah, Area 51 and Georgia. People: Marcel Duchamp, Jackie Onassis, Van Gogh, Gauguin and Lee Harvey Oswald. Historical Events: War, close encounters and the big bang. Environment: Earth, oceans, sky and deserts. Beings: Mammals, insects and birds.The Human Condition: Fate, luck, god, religion, evolution, the thought process and cryptic messages. Art Elements: Texture, balance, design, color, order and chaos.
